Slice rendering / ordering across all records

Thanks for a fantastic product. One thing I am having trouble with is ordering columns - it only orders the records from the current page - it should order all records. I am using the CRUD php example to load from my database, but currently if a user wants to order all records in the database, they would need to be able to show all records on one page, which defeats the entire point of pagination. Perhaps if slice rendering/live load was available in 2.2 (I can't find it anywhere, but maybe it still is), then the problem could be solved that way.

I think this really needs to be sorted out as currently sorting is basically useless - thanks for you help.

Sorry, I just found the remote sort example - I am going to see if I can get it working now.

I still think the slice rendering would be a great feature to have back.
